    Swanson® | The legendary carpenter's square.

    • The only version available in metric measurements.
    • The square is designed with two sets of scales for use with standard rafters, corner beams, and valley beams.
    • The square can also be used as a stable guide for a power saw.
    • The inner scale is used for marking tenons and mortises.
    Swanson | "Speed Square" Metric Carpenter's Square

    One set square, many possibilities.

    • The set square is used for precise measuring and marking angles and lines.
    • "Scribe" notches are located along the centimeter scale, allowing the user to mark lines up to 14 cm wide across the entire length of the material.
    • The pivot allows for easy rotation of the protractor to measure angles, or a plumb line can be used to determine an existing angle.

    The "ONE-NUMBER METHOD" developed by Swanson Tool Co., Inc. simplifies the construction of roof trusses. Diagrams, illustrations, and tables are included in the instructions and will help you when using the SPEED square for roof trusses and other projects. Remember that proper planning saves time and materials. "Measure twice, cut once."

    Description and Use:

    • Square size: 25.4 cm. 
    • Single version in metric
    • The square is designed with two sets of scales for use with standard rafters, corner, and valley beams.
    • The inner scale (ruler) with smaller numbers is for working in metric units, while the outer scale (ruler) is for working in degrees. Because the scale covers a full 90° range, it allows the user to mark any angle in degrees, as well as angles expressed in "*decimeters of height per meter of length." You can easily, on the first try, convert degrees to decimeters of height or vice versa.
    • The protractor is marked identically on both sides for use on either side of a beam.
    • There are also "scribe notches" located below the centimeter scale to allow the user to mark a line up to 14 cm wide along the length of the entire piece of lumber.
    • The square can also be used as a stable guide for a power saw.
    • The internal scale is used for marking tenons and mortises.
    • Made of lightweight, high-quality aluminum alloy.
    • Matte finish for better visibility.
    • The size and features of the square make it suitable for multiple uses in the construction industry.
