The SOLA Big X / Big X 3 is a premium profile level designed to save time in the field: it offers quick, easy-to-read measurements and consistent accuracy even with daily use. The ergonomic, torsionally rigid aluminum profile retains its shape, the end caps protect the level from impacts, and the measuring surface is coated.

Accuracy of 0.50 / 0.75 mm/m – what does that mean in practice

The standard position is the “classic” one: the level lies with the vials facing up on the material (shelf, windowsill, edge of a board).
The inverted position is when you use the level “overhead” or against a bottom edge (e.g., checking the level of a ceiling, lintel, or underside of a structure). A slightly higher tolerance is allowed here—hence 0.75 mm/m.

With the Big X, you get what matters most in practice: SOLA FOCUS vials with up to +60% magnification. The bubble is distinct, easy to read, and readings are quick even at longer distances. PLUS: the vials are made of shatterproof acrylic glass, and the manufacturer guarantees their long-term airtightness.

Readability in low light: when you don’t want to chase the light

SOLA also addresses “construction site realities”—the vial has an optimized luminous background, making it easier to read in low light (garage, hallway, suspended ceiling, dim lighting).

X-profile: torsionally rigid and comfortable to hold

The X shape isn’t just a design feature—it helps the profile maintain rigidity so the level doesn’t “twist” unnecessarily during normal use. That’s exactly why this series feels more reliable than standard lightweight levels.

2-piece shock-absorbing end caps: profile protection against drops

The end caps absorb shocks and protect the profile edges during storage and transport. In practice, this means a lower risk of “bumps” that can wear down the level over time.

Practical Tip: Protective Case (BAG)

If you carry a spirit level in your car or keep it on a construction site, a protective case will significantly extend its service life (profile, vials, end caps). Cases are selected simply based on the spirit level’s length: 60 / 80 / 120 / 180 / 200 cm.
