Applications:
1. Furniture, stairs, and countertops:
· Step1: Sand the wooden surface until it is free of scratches. The final grit should be between 100 and 150, depending on the sanding method used.
· Step2: Thoroughly vacuum up the sanding dust, remove any remaining dust, and open the pores in the wood using Rubio Monocoat Cleaner. Wait until the surface is completely dry (check the cleaner’s technical data sheet before use).
· Step3: Stir Component A until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Then carefully mix both components (1 to 2 minutes) in a volume ratio of 3 parts A to 1 part B.
· Step4: Apply a small amount of Oil Plus 2C using a beige/red Rubio Monocoat Scrubby pad or a hand sander witha small150 mm beige Rubio Monocoat pad (you can also use the Rubio Monocoat Mouse Pad for smaller objects and corners).
*Spatula method: Spread Oil Plus 2C with a stainless steel spatula onto areas that can be completed in a maximum of 30 minutes (including Step 5).
· Step5: Allow to absorb for a few minutes. Wipe off any excess oil with a cloth or a hand sander fitted with a small white 150 mm Rubio Monocoat pad. Finish with a cloth within 30 minutes. The surface should be non-sticky!
2. Floors:
· Step1: Sand the wooden surface until it is free of scratches. The final grit should be between 100.
· Step2: Thoroughly vacuum up the sanding dust, remove any remaining dust, and open the pores in the wood with Rubio Monocoat Cleaner, then wait until the surface is completely dry (check the cleaner’s technical data sheet before use).
· Step3: Stir Component A until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Then carefully mix both components (1 to 2 minutes) in a volume ratio of 3 parts A to 1 part B.
· Step4: Work in 5–10 m² zones. Begin each zone by treating the edges with a beige or red Rubio Monocoat Scrubby pad . Then apply a small amount of Oil Plus 2C every 0.5 meters using a brush. Spread it across the floor using a polishing machine witha beige orred 406 mm Rubio Monocoat pad.
*Spatula method: Spread Oil Plus 2C with a stainless steel spatula over areas that can be completed in a maximum of 30 minutes (including Step 5).
· Step5: Thoroughly remove all excess oil with a cloth or a polishing machine fitted with a white 406 mm Rubio Monocoat pad. The surface should be non-sticky!
· Step6: Onceall areas are finished, go over the entire surface again with a polishing machine using a new white Rubio Monocoat pad. The surface should now be non-sticky.
3. Repairs and Renovations with Oil Plus 2C:
If a surface treated with Oil Plus 2C shows significant wear or needs color correction, maintain it using Oil Plus 2C in its original color.
· Step1: Use Rubio Monocoat Deep Cleaner to clean the wooden surface until it is stain-free. If any stains remain, repeat the cleaning process or use one of our stain removers (RMC Grease Remover, RMC Limespot Remover, orRMC Tannin Remover ). Check the technical data sheet before use.
*If the wooden item is too damaged or neglected, you will first need to sand the surface with the same grit as the one you originally used to finish your wooden item. Consult your specialist if necessary.
· Step2: Remove dissolved dirt with a damp cloth or mop and clean water, and allow the surface to dry thoroughly (± 30 minutes at 20°C in a well-ventilated room).
· Step3: Stir Component A until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Carefully mix both components (1 to 2 minutes) in a volume ratio of 3 parts A to 1 part B.
· Step4: Apply a small amount of Oil Plus 2C using a beige/red Rubio Monocoat Scrubby pad or a hand sander with a small 150 mm beige Rubio Monocoat pad (you can also use a Rubio Monocoat Mouse Pad for smaller objects and corners).
· Step5: Allow to absorb for a few minutes. Wipe off any excess oil with a cloth or a hand sander fitted with a small white 150 mm Rubio Monocoat pad. Finish with a cloth within 30 minutes. The surface should be non-sticky!
