Reach is not the same as the ladder’s length. Maximum reach indicates the approximate height that a person standing on the ladder can reach when using it correctly. Therefore, it is greater than the ladder’s working length.

Reach is not the height you can climb to.

Maximum reach is the approximate height a standing person can reach—it is calculated as the height of the top step plus approximately 198 cm, which is roughly the height of an adult standing at 175 cm with an outstretched arm.*

Therefore, the reach is always greater than both the standing height and the height of the structure itself. Your actual reachable height depends on your stature.

* This is the manufacturer’s calculation, not a value specified by the EN 131 standard—which does not address user height. Most other brands use the same method of calculation.

Working on Uneven Ground: Integrated Ratchet Leveling Legs

Sloping pavement, a garden, a curb, or another uneven surface? The integrated Ratchet leveling legs allow you to extend individual sides of the Leveler and compensate for height differences directly within the ladder’s structure.

The manufacturer specifies more than 7 inches—over 18 cm—of leveling capacity. You can make the adjustment in just a few seconds, and when you’re done working, the leveling section slides back into the ladder leg.

You can quickly adjust the height to suit the specific task

Side locks allow you to release the ladder’s extendable sections, extend them to the desired length, and securely lock them back in place. This makes it easy to adjust the Leveler’s height to suit the specific location—whether you’re working as if on a stepladder, on stairs, or need greater reach in the extended position.

Adjustments are made without tools, so you don’t have to spend time reconfiguring the entire ladder when your work situation changes.

Quick repositioning thanks to the Quad Lock joint

Thanks to this system, you can reconfigure the Leveler while working—for example, from a stepladder to a leaning ladder or into a 90° configuration—without needing another ladder.

From a single ladder to the foundation of a work scaffold

The Leveler can be disassembled and, with the appropriate trestle brackets and a work platform, used as the base for a work scaffold. Neither the trestle brackets nor the work platform are included in the delivery and must be purchased separately.

Tip & Glide Casters

The M17, M22, and M26 models are equipped with Tip & Glide transport wheels. Simply tilt the ladder and use the wheels to conveniently roll it to your next work site without having to carry it by hand.

Leveler or Velocity?

If you work mainly on flat floors and paved surfaces, the standard Velocity offers the same main types of multi-position use at a lower weight.

The Leveler is ideal for situations where you regularly encounter uneven ground, slopes, or varying heights beneath the ladder’s legs. The integrated ratchet legs compensate for these irregularities directly within the ladder’s structure.

The increased weight (e.g., 15.3 kg for the M17 vs. 13.6 kg for the Velocity) is due to the robust ratchet mechanism in the legs, which guarantees maximum stability without the need to purchase external screw-on extensions.

Where the Little Giant Leveler Is Suitable

The Leveler is particularly suitable for building maintenance, installations, service work, gardens and around the house, facades, renovations, staircases, and work sites with uneven or sloped surfaces. Its advantages are evident wherever the work location changes frequently and a perfectly level floor cannot be expected.

The Leveler is an aluminum ladder. If you need a non-conductive material for a specific work environment, you must choose an appropriate fiberglass ladder.

How much unevenness can the Ratchet legs compensate for?

The integrated ratchet legs allow you to compensate for a height difference of more than 18 cm. This means you can stably position the Leveler, for example, on sloped paving stones, next to a curb, or on any other solid surface with varying heights beneath the feet.

Can the Leveler be used on stairs?

Yes, each side of the ladder can be adjusted to a different length in stepladder mode. This allows the Leveler to create a staircase configuration without having to prop up one side of the ladder temporarily.

What is the difference between the Leveler and the Velocity?

Both ladders offer the same main configurations and, for corresponding models, the same working reaches. The Leveler also features integrated Ratchet leveling legs, but these make it heavier. For example, the Leveler M17 weighs 15.3 kg, while the Velocity M17 weighs 13.6 kg.

When should you choose the Leveler and when the Conquest All-Terrain?

The Leveler is better suited for solid surfaces on a slope or with a height difference beneath the feet. The Conquest All-Terrain is better suited for more challenging outdoor terrain, such as load-bearing clay or gravel, where its independently adjustable legs and swivel feet come in handy.

What size Leveler should you choose?

M17: 3.45/5.51 m, M22: 4.01/6.71 m, M26: 4.60/7.87 m – the first value indicates the working reach when used as a ladder, and the second indicates the reach when extended. If the required height is close to the maximum, choose a larger model with sufficient headroom.

Is the Leveler suitable for working near electrical sources?

No—the aluminum construction conducts electricity. For environments with electrical hazards, it is necessary to use a suitable fiberglass ladder.
