Reach is not the same as ladder length. Maximum reach indicates the approximate height that a standing person can reach when the ladder is used correctly. Therefore, it is greater than the ladder’s working length.

Reach is not the height you can climb to.

Maximum reach is the approximate height a standing person can reach—it is calculated as the height of the top step plus approximately 198 cm, which is roughly the height of an adult standing at 175 cm with an outstretched arm.*

Therefore, the reach is always greater than both the standing height and the height of the structure itself. Your actual reachable height depends on your stature.

* This is the manufacturer’s calculation, not a value specified by the EN 131 standard—which does not address user height. Most other brands use the same method of calculation.

Little Giant - Velocity universal articulated ladder

You can quickly adjust the height to suit the specific task

Rapid Lock twist locks allow you to release the telescoping sections, extend them to the desired length, and lock them back in place. This lets you adjust the height without tools, depending on whether you’re working as if on a stepladder or need greater reach in the extended position.

The Quad Lock central joints are used to change the ladder’s basic configuration. Thanks to them, the Velocity can be quickly reconfigured between storage, freestanding, and leaning positions.

Thanks to this system, you can reconfigure the Velocity while working—for example, from a stepladder to a leaning ladder or a 90° configuration—without needing another ladder.

Less space required for transport and storage

You can fold the Velocity into a compact transport configuration without having to separate its individual parts. This makes it easier to store the ladder in a workshop, warehouse, or van, and it’s quickly ready to unfold when you need it again.

Tip & Glide Casters

Simply tilt the ladder and use the wheels to easily roll it to your next work site without having to carry it by hand. The smallest model, the M13, does not have wheels.

Velocity, Leveler, or Conquest All-Terrain?

Choose the Velocity for mostly flat and solid surfaces if you want a versatile, multi-position ladder that’s as lightweight as possible. It offers stepladder, extension, staircase, and 90° configurations, and models M17 through M26 feature Tip & Glide transport wheels.

The Leveleris better suited for solid surfaces on a slope or with a height difference beneath the feet. The integrated Ratchet legs allow for leveling of more than 18 cm, for example on sloped pavers, concrete, or next to a curb.

The Conquest All-Terrainis designed for more challenging outdoor terrain. Individually adjustable legs compensate for a height difference of up to 20 cm, and the swivel feet feature a rubber side for solid surfaces and a toothed side for loose soil or gravel.

The difference is also evident in weight: the Velocity M17 model weighs 13.6 kg, the Leveler M17 weighs approximately 15.3 kg, and the Conquest All-Terrain M17 weighs approximately 16.3 kg.

What positions does the Little Giant Velocity offer?

The Velocity offers 6 working configurations: stepladder, leaning ladder, extension ladder, staircase configuration, 90° position, and—with the appropriate accessories—a base for a work scaffold.

What is the difference between the Velocity and the Velocity PRO?

Both versions offer the same main configurations and, for corresponding models, the same working reaches. The Velocity PRO also features a black anodized finish and a mount for the AirDeck workstation. The standard Velocity has a classic aluminum finish and is not equipped with an AirDeck mount.

Which Velocity size should you choose?

M13: 2.87/4.34 m, M17: 3.45/5.51 m, M22: 4.01/6.71 m, M26: 4.60/7.87 m – the first value indicates the working reach when used as a stepladder, the second when extended. If the required height is close to the maximum, choose a larger model with sufficient headroom.

Do all Velocity models have transport wheels?

The M17, M22, and M26 models have Tip & Glide transport wheels; the smallest model, the M13, does not. With the larger models, you don’t have to carry the ladder all the way by hand—simply tilt it and roll it along a flat surface.

Is the Velocity suitable for uneven terrain?

The Velocity is primarily designed for flat, solid surfaces. For solid surfaces with a slope, the Leveler with integrated leveling legs is more suitable, while the Conquest All-Terrain is better suited for more challenging outdoor terrain.

Is the Velocity suitable for use near electrical sources?

No—the aluminum construction conducts electricity. For environments with electrical hazards, it is necessary to use a suitable fiberglass ladder.
