Reach is not the height you stand on

The maximum working reach is an approximate height that a standing person can reach. The manufacturer calculates it based on the maximum permitted standing height—that is, the height of the highest step, rung, or platform on which the user is permitted to stand—and adds approximately 198 cm. This value corresponds to the reach of an adult approximately 175 cm tall with an outstretched arm.*

The working reach is therefore greater than the maximum permitted standing height. The actual height you can reach depends on your height.

* This is the manufacturer’s calculation method, not a value specified by the EN 131 standard. That standard does not specify either the user’s height or reach. Most other brands also use a similar principle.
