Japanese saws, unlike European saws, cut by pull and not by pressure. "Kataba" translates from Japanese as "cutting on one side". Pkataba saws are commonly used for larger and deeper cuts and therefore have teeth on only one side.
Precision blades made from premium Japanese SK-85 tool steel, hardened to 58 HRC and induction hardened teeth to 71 HRC.
Handle - lightweight balsa wrapped with rattan for comfort and grip.
