Thomas Briggs founded the company in 1986. At that time it was called the Boston Wire Stitcher Company. He introduced the first wire stapler in 1903 and the first table stapler in 1914. The essential invention was the staple staple glued in a tape, which has been the industry standard for all manufacturers ever since. In 1965, the company introduced the first nailer with a drum hopper.
The company is still one of the pioneers in the development of nailers, carton staplers, stapling machines and special upholstery staplers. We provide warranty and post-warranty service for all Bostitch products.
